The Florida College Alumni Chorus met for the first time in February 1993 a the end of the annual Florida College Lectureship to record religious songs for a cassette tape. The concept that graduates of James “Dudy” Walker’s past choruses would enjoy a reunion and savor the opportunity to record mature voices in praise to God was in no way insignificant. Since that first recording session, more than sixty different former chorus members ranging in age from early twenties to mid-sixties have participated in the annual recording sessions as much as schedules would allow. In 1995 the Florida College Alumni Chorus Booster Club became an official support group of Florida College, desiring to help provide funds for scholarships, needed equipment, and the general operating fund of the college. Although the annual recording session has been of major interest in the past, in September 1996 the Alumni Chorus performed two songs in the annual Faculty Alumni Showcase, opening with the Start Spangled Banner. We sincerely hope you are edified and encouraged by the a capella religious songs on these compact disks, an effort of love by each participant. We give praise to the Creator and to our Risen Savior.
